...what do you think about our recruiting class? Those of you with knowledge, after having some time to chew it over, how did Miles and Co. do? I'm sorry to keep pumping you for info, but 1) in Indianapolis, I'm more likely to hear about PREZBO's search for a dog than I am Indiana State football, and 2) I just don't know that much about it, and I like reading viewpoints from people who might have a clue as to what they're talking about!!!
So, anyone with an opinion - jump in!!!

I think some of the most important things to take away from this recruiting class are..........
1.) We have gotten Alumni and former players involved with recruiting.
2.) We are starting to re-establish pipelines in areas that we have in the past, which are strong HS football areas. Cinncy, Western PA, etc.
3.) We are getting "Winners". Kids that come from winning high-school programs. For example, Andrew Blackmon, the 3 Center Grove kids, Matt King, Dillon Painter, etc.
4.) We are getting kids that want to be hear. In the past we would get kids because we were the only option.
5.) We are getting faster!
6.) The current players LOVED these kids when they were on their visits. And vice versa. The recruits LOVED our current players. There is a real sense of family emerging within the ISU football program and that comes from the top down.
7.) We are starting to get 1st team All-state players. In years past, we would usually get 1 or 2 all-state players. This year, I think we got 9 guys that were rated as 1st team all-Indiana players. 2 or 3 of which were rated in the top 50 players in the state.
8.) We are starting to compete with schools at our level or above for players. Eastern Illinois, SIU, Ball State, Illinois State, Western Illinois, Central Michigan, Eastern KY, Miami (OH) etc. In years past, we were competing with Wabash College and Franklin College.
9.) A healthy dose of Tight Ends.
These are just my thoughts.

This is a huge one and it opens the door to grabbing excellent players in the future, if a 3 star kid is looking to play right away, and knows he can't start for a FBS the biggest factor in choosing a FCS is the how does the team get along IMO! Thats been a big thing here at NDSU, I see our FB players together all the time around the city, at BBall games its nice to see them click!

We hoping all this translates onto the field this year. Will be exciting to see if it does.

Quite a few of the FB players were at the basketball game last night to be honored for making the honor roll. It was nice to see.
They are starting to become a family, for sure. That is evident by the fact that we signed all of the kids we wanted to sign. Also, we lost 0 notable young players from last years recruiting class after our second straight season with 0 wins. There is something to be said for that. THEY BELIEVE IN THEIR TEAMMATES AND COACHES!

Interesting note while they were announcing names during halftime yesterday Koby Kraemer was announced with the Football team instead of the Baseball team . I believe Koby was initally playing baseball and signed as a Football player as a way to get the rest of his scholarship.

Interesting........ I didn't think about that. I did notice that we had a lot of honor roll athletes for all sports.

I imagine it was because he made the honor roll during football season. Koby's future is in baseball. No doubt about it.

Why would that be a question or notable. Koby has played football @ ISU. He has yet to play baseball.

I wasnt questioning that i just thought since he was playing both sports they would have possibly mentioned him as both a baseball player as well as a Football player is all . never tried making a big deal about it . we were discussing how the football team is trying to become a big family .

if they do it the way isu used to when i worked there, if an athlete is football/track, football/baseball, they are listed first as football then the other sport. unless that person is strictly the other sport and just started playing football. we had several players who were football/track, football/baseball. it's been done that way at most, if not all, universities for as long as i can remember.
