EIU went on a tear since losing to ISU last month, they're now ranked 27th in the nation

gametime is 3pm (EST) today. Good thing that Miami game was rained out, that woulda been tough to come back and play a road game at EIU after that.

Live stats will be on the EIU sports site in an hour or so.

ISU loses 25-7, EIU hit 7 home runs, need to rebound and win this weekend series against winless (mvc) Bradley

it's akin to wrigley field....the wind blows out and the ball flies out of there in a hurry....i used to sit in the isu dugout and keep the scorebook there....i would get writer's cramp from totaling up all the runs...lol....and that was when isu had pretty good pitching too....lol....

I would check the balls.......................see if they used painted wiffle balls or something when the home team was batting? Can't believe EIU got all of the home runs?

SkinnyLu and I heard from Cordell about the wind carrying out of there today. That certainly had to be a factor, but overall it was a rough game for a lot of other reasons as well. EIU is on an incredible tear right now. I would also keep in mind that their strength of schedule ranking on Warren Nolan is #156 (ISU is #130). I would be curious to see where they stood if they'd played higher quality teams in their non-con matchups. Their best opponent since last playing ISU was Oklahoma (which they did win 8-6), and EIU did lose to Bradley on March 18th (by a score of 1-7).

If it were the Beavs, I would dearly hope that this type of streak happened closer to the end of the season to carry us through Regionals and beyond. This pace is hard to maintain.

Officially, the wind gusts were up to 25 mph during the game. Certainly a factor. But this is a team that has hit 18 homers in their seven league games and prior to yesterday had hit 41 for the young season!

We need to hire their "hitting coach".

I'd be curious to know how many of these HR came in their own park. Anyone know?
