Saw this kid a couple times this past year and he is one nasty fella. There is actually quite a bit of talent on that Fishers squad and would serve State well to try and dip into a GROWING area. By the time my youngin' hits there (a couple years), they think they could be well over 2,200 students.

Anyhow, kid will get overlooked by a lot of programs because of his lack of size, but could be a steal.

Is this guy related to the former Columbus East and Notre Dame quarterback Blair Kiel? If so, it is hard to imagine the son of a heralded college All-American being overlooked, even though this young man is a linemen.

Blair Kiel had a spectacular college career -- I think he was a four-year starter for the Irish -- but a lackluster pro career. He did play for awhile with the Indianapolis Colts.

Yes, I do believe this is his son but I'm not 100% sure. I know Blair has a brother or two. The problem with kids like Tyler is his size really is held against him because of the size most major college programs have. It usually cuts off at 6'3" for centers/guards and 6'5" for tackles for most BCS schools.

As of right now, though, I don't believe he has any offers or at least the guy I spoke to at the ballpark didn't seem to think so.

Blair Kiel is Tyler's uncle. Blair's son Brandon played QB at Hamilton Southeastern & was on roster last year at IU. Tyler's other cousins Drew(Ill.State) & Dusty(IU- 09') are also both QB's.

True statement.Officially 6'-1" #272. Tyler is strong (recently benched #395 at end of workout)& plays with definite nasty streak, important for a guy that plays in the trenches. Will play OL & DT in 2009, some MAC schools recruiting him at DT.Versatile, may end up college C, has good long snapping skills as well. Upcoming perfromances at Senior 1 Day Camps will be critical for Ty. Starts off at Eastern Ky on Sunday. With stops at Ohio U, Toledo, Bowling Green, Ohio State, Cincinnati & others.

Seems to be like Jordan Stepp from last year in terms of his size/strength numbers and the way his recruitment is going.

The line returns four starters in Austin Gorge, Tyler Kiel, Jordan Willy and John Keck. Gorge, Kiel and Willy are also needed on defense, so Wimmer expects Nathan Morkal to see plenty of time on the interior while Michael Mango and Paul Hughes compete to replace Josh Cleveland at right tackle.
