Seeing that comment by Kosor got me to thinking. How many of you that attended State were Greek while on campus?
I was Greek. I was a member of Kappa Alpha Order.

My answer to invitations to fraternities was always: "Why would I be interested in that. I don't drink." That was sure to draw an angry, defensive response.

I didn't drink, either. There are a LOT of opportunities available when you're Greek. I got to go to quite a few leadership and other various conferences on the dime of State, my fraternity, etc.
The social aspect is often the focal point, but it really is just a small part of the equation.

I was a proud member of Gamma Delta Iota! I used Army ROTC as my 'fraternity.'
In all honesty, I couldn't afford a fraternity; realized it probably wasn't a huge expense but when you're a broke college kid; another bill is another bill.
And no regrets of not joining a fraternity.

Nope, always viewed it as buying friends. From the social aspects, I lived in a house with between 2-5 other guys and the parties we threw would rival any fraternity party. People would actually comment that our parties were better.
I guess we did create a faux fraternity called Phi Phucka Ma (Phi Zi Mu) as a joke...we even made shirts. It was great!

I was an art major, a TA and paid my own way through ISU...I really didn't have the time or the money for the frat life.

Lambda Chi here. Roomed with Bob Barker and Paul Stroud. Great stories and great times, and we beat Purdue at Mackey, which was really fantastic. I'm blue proud.

Hey Coach. I saw Sroud in a Holiday Tournament put up about 50 points against Honey Creek and then another 50 against Wiley in the championship game. Great H.S. player - I think this was right before he got his jaw broken when sucker punched.
