I've invited some youngsters (including my 13 year old) to register on the board and take a look at the cross country regimens as well as ask questions and solicit advice from the guys on the squad that post on here.

The kids all run on the Fishers Junior High Cross Country team and will eventually be members of the Fishers High School team. All of them were 7th graders this past year. Just wanted to throw a heads up -- maybe some future Sycamore Cross Country runners in the bunch?

Excellent - Fishers is a distance running hot bed these days... No doubt some future Sycamores in the bunch. Many of the current Indiana State Cross Country runners have accounts on here and I am sure they would be able to answer any questions you have related to running, racing, training, eating, sleeping, lifting, and anything else that runners do... lol

From what my son tells me, they had a kid at the HS this year that was one of the best HS runners in the country? I didn't know the area was that good -- but his middle school did very well at every sport so that makes sense.

Indeed... Drew Shields. I don't follow high school XC to closely but a 5k (15:20) One Mile
(4:09) and Two Mile (9:18) puts him in pretty good company... His brother Alex Shields was pretty solid also. Just a lot of good runners comming out of that area these days. The greater Indianapolis area in general is pretty well loaded with tallent. We have a kid on the team Michael Disher who went to Southport and Brian Alexander (BA) who went to Pike.

Yep, that name sounds right. Said he was going to run for Wisconsin? Are they a national power or something?

One of the finest Cross Country programs in all the nation... Were really strong from 2000 to 2006. Still in the elite of college Cross Country. His brother Alex runs at South Alabama I do believe? Not for sure though.

We came in first in our county and had undefeated seasons for eigth and seventh grade teams for basketball, football, wrestling, I think volleyball, and track and field. Cross Country boys came in 6th out of ten at our county meet.
