Southmont senior Jarod Earle leads the state in strikeouts with 150+ and pitched 10 innings of scoreless baseball last night against #2 in 3a Crawfordsville in the sectional (C'ville ace Steven Rice, a junior, also threw 10 scoreless---and is a big-time D-1 recruit).....Earle is signed with Butler....probably could've been a good addition to the Sycamore staff?

Is this the kid who won Indiana's Gatorade POY? I read a quick little piece in the Trib Star, now sure if the school was Southmont or Southport.

No. Cameron Perkins from Southport won the Gatorade POY award. I did see Earle last night against the Terre Haute legion team and he is good. He is not a big kid. Maybe 6'0" 160 but he can bring it and has a good curve. Don't have official stats but he beat 346 4-1 and someone said he struck out 20. I don't know if thats right or not.
