After seeing the squad in action this weekend I can honestly say I am very excited about watching you guys this season. More importantly I am extremly proud of the attiude, dedication, and pride of this current Sycamore team. I love hearing everyone talking about going to weights, doing core, hitting 85-100 miles for the week!...etc. I remember not too long ago 35% of the team would miss weights, our core group consisted of 2-3 people, and a high mileage was 65-70 miles a week...ha. Not surprisingly, the more our attitude changed over the years the more conference titles, Intercolligite victories, and PR's we started to accumalate. The more dedicated/serious this ISU squad and future ISU squads become with these aspects of training...the closer ISU XC becomes to being a national caliber program. I believe this is everyone’s ultimate goal and if it isn't it certainly needs to be!! Good luck this season and DO WORK SON!!!!!

" If one can stick to the training throughout the many long years, then will power is no longer a problem. It's raining? That doesn't matter. I am tired? That's besides the point. It's simply that I just have to."

Good post! :sycamores:

Let me add to that just a bit.

This has to be one of the deepest Sycamore squads I have seen in the last 5 years. We have 15 guys that could really contribute to this team, coach is going to have a tough time deciding who to red-shirt.

I mean when your national qualifier from last year finishes 6th in your inner squad meet, then you have to be happy with yesterdays result. Granted I am positive that we have not seen the best of Scott Keeney and I am pretty sure if he wanted to win the inner squad meet yesterday he could have, the kid is rock solid and he does everything right...

I think this team will make the nationals this year... However they know not to get complacent, that's really important. They can't have any breakdowns and have to stay healthy!

Go Sycamores!

Meet summary comming soon! We will have an exclusive interview from an Indiana State runner to get their perspective on how the race played out and some more interesting questions.

Comming on Friday Andrew Lepkoski, transfer from Lewis University will give us our frist meet summary (Sycamore Pride inner squad meet). Andrew won the meet in his first race in blue and white, that had to be a great moment for him!
