more interesting stuff from the Gateway site. ISU has been on the receiving end of ALOT of blowouts, and lately too.

9 of the top 11 worst blowouts of all time have come at the expense of ISU blue.

62 - SIU vs. Indiana State (72-10), 2007
53 - Southern Illinois vs. Western Illinois (66-13), 2004
52 - Illinois State vs. Indiana State (69-17), 2007
52 - UNI vs. Indiana State (58-6), 2004

I believe that 1995 SIU/Ind. State game was a Sycamore victory.

you're right by george! I just assumed it was a loss, I corrected it above now.

Yeah, I was at that game. Amazing what can happen in ten years, huh? If SIU can turn it around, maybe so can we one of these days.

gonna be alot diff. for ISU to turn things around than it was for SIU I think, with ISU's limited budget for FB it might be pretty tough, plus the recruiting (with IU, PU, BSU, ND, etc...) all going for the same players in-state, it will be tough for ISU to get the top quality players it needs to be competitive in the new Gateway from here on out. As many of you saw, ndsu pounded Minn. Sat. for their 2nd I-A win of the season. ISU plays at ndsu in 2008.

The Sycamores aren't simply a losing program. At this point they're an embarrassment to American football.

from today's Trib Star, more stats, ISU last or near last in all stats, no real surprises here:

The Sycamores are seventh in scoring offense (11.9 ppg), seventh in scoring defense (46.2 ppg), sixth in pass offense (123.2 ypg), third in pass defense (181.8 ypg), seventh in rushing offense (132.4 ypg), seventh in rushing defense (312.6 ypg), seventh in total offense (255.6 ypg), seventh in total defense (494.4 ypg), seventh in turnover margin (minus 1.62 per game) and seventh in defense sacks (three).

"No problemo"...as they say in Huntingburg and W. Chicago.

We just need to recruit WTH more intensively.
