The ICON building seen here: http://www.terrehauteareaedc.com/documents/WebDoc.ICONBuilding.pdf

Could be the location of an ISU indoor track when the time is right. ISU now owns this building and President Bradley has stated that he would like to make use of the building. They may consider tearing down some of the building, but my guess is this will be the location of the indoor track in the next 10 years. I actually think you will see a new outdoor track in the next 5 years and possibly an indoor track in the next 10 years. This is not a pipe dream - they already made the first step to make this dream a reality by purchasing the land...

Pretty cool looking building actually - I am sure it would need quite a bit of work on the inside to clear room for an indoor track, but having a structure already in place could save them some money.

Problems with the structure include giant (HUUUUUGGGEEE) pillars placed regularly throughout the facility. It would be cool to re-use the building for some athletic use. Given the announcements this week- who knows what will be accomplished/tabled in the next five years.

Yeah that doesn't really surprise me because that building is enormous - have you been in that building Jersey boy? Do you think it would make more sense to try and use that building or just add on to the old rec center/current indoor track?

I think with them planning on putting the outdoor track on the west side of 3rd street it would be advantageous for them to do anything possible to move the indoor track next door to the outdoor track.

I have heard that there might be some baseball activities inside part of the building. Permanent batting cages, nets, etc.

That would be pretty sweet - give them a place to do some things in the winter time. How cool (dream big) would it be if they can make that building all inclusive for outdoor sports at Indiana State giving them a place to practice indoors during the winter months. Football, Tennis, Baseball, Soccer, Track, Golf (simulation or putting green) sweet! That would be pretty cool - just add on a little at a time...
