If anyone has not seen Major Clay high jump it's an absolute treat to watch. The guy is like 5"10 and he jumps 7"2 in the high jump, it's amazing to watch! He is such an athlete and he has been jumping hurt. Major Hops is a good guy also, you have to see this guy high jump! AMAZING!
Coach Gartland if you are reading this send me some video so I can post it, people need to see him jump! lol

Who holds the ISU record now? Steve Cooksey (6'3"/TH Gerstmeyer '68) held the record for nearly 1/4 century (7'1"?) before it was broken...can't recall who. He was also a terror in the Triple Jump.

High jump is probably the most physical intense event to watch. Seeing someone plant, and turn their momentum in an entirely different direction to clear something taller than him is amazing. Steve Smith & Parker were getting well over 7' in the mid-'90s. Not sure offhand which has the record or what it actually is.

Thanks for posting 4Q - let me also note that Major will jump or can jump 7"4 or better. I think Coach Gartland would tell you that same thing, if he is healthy he is not only one of the best high jumpers in the Mo Val but in the entire country.
He has one of the top heights in the nation right now.
Also please note that Hutson's clearance at Iowa State put her in elite company yet again, that vault was one of the top 10 best vaults indoor in the history of the NCAA. She is "that" good!
