Terre Haute will be holding the National’s Milk Mile again this year as a part of the NCAA National’s weekend to celebrate (in an odd way) the close of the xc season. Last year we saw Jeremiah Vaughan defend his 2008 title. He took the race from the gun and finished in 4:44, which still stands as the world’s best. The women’s field doubled in size, with a special appearance from Rosalie Franek (Bridgett Franek’s mom.)

She has a very busy schedule on this day but as everything is happening on campus this year, if she gets a few minutes they are going to try and have her stop by.

If it ever goes to a true beer mile, I'm in. I get to pick the brew; nothing under 6% ABV allowed.

Thanks guys for your support! We are really trying to make it a festival type attitude in Cross Country Town USA leading up to the NCAA championships and this is just one of the small events that are apart of that.

If anyone would like to compete, if you register by Wednesday Nov. 17 then you will be able to enter for the reduced fee of $5. Come out and support a great cause and take part of the celebration that happens in Cross Country Town USA as part of the Division 1 National Championships.

I tried to convince Tanner and some of the Fishers kids to do it but Tanner hates milk.

ahah they would have enjoyed it, should just bring the kids out to watch! Maybe next time they will come down and do it - that'd be great! They do get some younger kids from time to time.

this year was awesome. vaughan came and didn't disappoint. Disher, the stud he is, showed up to race which led him to sub-5 for the first time. syracuse brought out another guy this year for another 3rd place finish. BA showed up out of shape, but still toughed out to a 6th place finish. Betz came out to compete for the best costume award and in the race by placing 4th and missing the 5 min barrier by 5 sec.

Sam Chalenga was our guest starter for our first race before he had to leave. I'm not sure if Joan Benoit-Samuelson got to come out, her schedule is probably busy as it is. We had many more teams come out to watch this year, whereas last year we basically had syracuse.

Overall this year was a great event. Thanks for everyone's support and good job to all those who ran.
