The 62nd ranked men & 32nd ranked women's indoor track teams are back in action this Saturday at Rose Hulman, taking on Illinois State in a dual meet, Rose is also in action vs. Illinois Wesleyan & Washington University of St. Louis.
There is no BB game, men or women, at home, so if you're in town head out to the meet, there is no better time to support ISU athletes than now!

Just got back from the meet CC - Sycamores looked pretty good. Got a deep team. Saw Major Clay enter in the high jump at or near 7'0 clear and win, if you have never seen Major Clay high jump it's a treat. As fun as it is to watch D-Late dunk, it's equally impressive to watch someone that's 5'10 high jump 7"2.
Sycamores have some great depth in the sprints (60, 200, 60H). Also looked pretty good in the Mile. Vaughn went something like 4:12, Disher 4:15, Freshman Drew Gamibll 4:17 good for 1, 2, 3.
Going to have a much better track team than last year, no question about that.

SSOM, why didn't Brandon Pounds compete? What happened with Swift's DQ in the 60 hurdles & why didn't he run the 60 meter dash finals?

It appears that Pounds will redshirt (injury) this indoor season - looked to be a hand injury, I didn't talk to him so I don't know for sure but he had some kind of cast on I think.
Swift pulled out of the 60s 3 hurdles in (he was winning) appeared to be a Hammy. I'd guess he's out 2 or 3 meets at the most, he will be back. Kid looked impressive for a Freshman. He wore the Dewight Howard arm sleeves, that was an interesting look. But he's an athlete.
Had a chance to drive up to watch the Trees. Major Clay is a major talent, he is a treat to watch.
Got to watch Swift run a couple of times before his injury. He can sprint, hurdle, but I'm not sure if he can rebound with those Dwight Howard arm sleeves.
Weatherford looks like a total stud. Who knows how many MVC titles she might rack up before she's finished.
Vaughan kinda laid back before rocking everyone the last 300 or so. Had a RH guy who hung tough with him.
Hometown boy Justin Baxtron took the deuce in 22.5 (go Pirates, haha). Looking forward to seeing great things from Johnson and Tuttle in the 400. Lot of contact between Tuttle and the guy from ILS, but Tuttle got the win--well done.
Both men's and women's 3k races were fun to watch. Very competitive efforts from Malone, Zangmeister, Betz, and Padgett--especially this early in January.
Can't forget Johnson in the Weight--broke the Fieldhouse record by almost 2 meters!
Hope to see the Trees later this season.

And all these years I thought "The King" was a track legend recognizable to all who followed him in wearing the ISU uniform. King, I guess you should have run the steeplechase more often. :D

LOL! Hell I wouldn't know Bob Kennedy if he walked up to me said "hello" and took off running... With that being said I was 2 years old in 88' so I think I can get a free pass. I see the name "King" on the best lists, those are not that hard to find.
But as far as being "recognizable" no I am pretty oblivious to the world in which I lived in. Have never considered myself to have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the sport of cross country or track. Granted I coach middle schoolers, but I have not studied the sport to the degree that most that ran before me, ran with me and running after me. I was always just one to go out and run - didn't run to break records, didn't care who I was running against.... bla bla bla
