Any recent information on quarterback Hayden Northern of Martinisville? If I'm not mistaken, his grandmother is from Rockville.

I have not heard anything new. We did offer his HS teammate Beau Shields, so I'll see if I can find out if we've done anything with Hayden. Everything I've read recently is analysts stating they think he'd be a good FCS QB.

The grandmother now lives at Fairfield Glade, TN a retirement community near Crossville, TN. Real nice area with great golf courses and many lakes on the premises.

I like his accuracy, rarely do you have truly accurate QBs in HS.Usually just throw to where they think they will be, this kids height gives him an unparalelled vision of the field allowing him to be accurate.

Has an offer from Western Michigan... Have been around Hayden at QB camps for past three years.. Has been varsity starter since his freshman year... Quick release, strong arm.. Career Stats 6925 passing yards, 66 TDS. He is a great young man from a great family...

Committed to Western Illinois. We'll be seeing him.

My son played in Hayden Northern's conference, and we saw way too much of him over the last 4 years. He's a legit 6'4" 200 with a cannon of an arm, and is extremely accurate. He lit us up at Lucas Oil Stadium this past fall, throwing for approx. 300 yards & 4 TDs.

We had a chance to land a 4 year starter at a 5A school in our own backyard! What happened? I heard that we didn't recruit him very heavily at all, even after he came to visit for a game. Mark my words, this will come back to bite us in conference play against Western Ill. over the next 4 years. This kid can play!

I think the staff is equally excited about the quarterback haul they landed. Time will definitely tell if they should have went after Hayden harder. Was he even interested in Indiana State? We got one of his teammates in Beau Shields, but I don't recall seeing him at any of our games although I think he was slated to visit. Recruiting is a two way street sometimes.

The Sycamores signed Illinois high school quarterback Robert Tonyan from Western Illinois' backyard. So I call it even.

He was at the Butler game. We saw him there with Beau Shields. He listed Indiana State as one of his schools of interest on other sites. I'm sure Tonyan is good, I'm just saying we should make a hard run at in-state kids...especially ones that throw for almost 7,000 yards & 70 TDs. It makes me wonder if the staff thought he was going somewhere else.

It's possible. He was listed on Rivals as having a Western Michigan offer. BTW, thanks for registering and welcome to the site! How did you find out about Sycamore Pride?

Since Trent came on board as the head coach, he has made a strong committment to recruiting in-state and local kids. And I think his record over the last couple of seasons prove that.

I do not know if we offered anything to Hayden. I was hoping we would since I know his family from Rockville. On the other hand, if I were a high school senior and knew that the school recruiting me had signed two Division I quarterback transfers and a California junior college star, as well as a top notch high school senior from Illinois and a grayshirt quarterback from Indiana, I might focus my attention elsewhere.

Good point, Sycamore Sage. We have 6 QBs on the roster and should be set.

tonyan is just as good...but we will see hayden in the future...I was impressed with him...there are a couple younger qb's on our roster I would switch hayden for but it just doesn't work like that....I'll take tonyan, pride, perish, loncar....I'll like those chances...only time will tell...
