A well deserved honor for Michael. Michael Disher is one more reason I'm proud to be a Tree!

No doubt he is a good dude! He was a good teamate and he's a good friend. Wish him nothing but the best this track season!

It's always heartening to know the term "Student Athlete" still means something at Indiana State. IMHO, those who participate in the ISU cross country and T&F programs continue to be the standard bearers in this regard. Congrats to Dish and everyone involved!

I wish I could say the same about me and not that I am not doing fine for myself now because I am, but I never took school as serious as I should have. Or I took it serious I just didn't have the time to dedicate to it? You figure being a student, athlete and working 15 plus hours a week made for a full plate.

XC, you know the recognize student athletes who make above 3.0 at the basketball games? Well I sat with my parents the 4 years I was in school and for 4 years my mom would say, "when are you going to get to go out their" LOL! Never made it.... ahahah it's kinda funny looking back on it.

But I agree those XC guys are pretty smart! But I think what sets them apart is their discipline, it takes so much of that to be division one college cross country runner. I think that is the one word that I would describe every good cross country runner and more often than not it translates to everything those guys do - study, eat, sleep, run, study, eat, sleep, run... in any order.

Sounds as though you and I had about the same work load. And I don't want to misrepresent myself; I was a pretty average student for most of my time at ISU. I didn't really pull it together until my last two or three semesters before finally graduating.

In retrospect I wish I'd been a more committed student, and I think that's why I respect the guys and gals who get this type of recognition. They're getting the job done on the "field" and in the classroom, and they're not cutting any corners. It's really admirable and sets a great example.
