Will ISU add anybody else in the 2011 class?

If my math is correct than the Sycamores will graduate Aaron Carter, Jake Kelly, and Isiah Martin. We have Khristian Smith and Justin Gant signed for next season. Will Lansing persue any late signees? Adding another scoring guard wouldn't hurt for the future.

We have Devonte Brown, Khristian Smith and Justin Gant in the 2011 class. We will have one more open scholarship and if we could bring anyone in late, we could really use another shooter to attempt to replace Carter. We're going to miss him.

Yeah I forgot about Brown. Do you expect him to contribute right away? Our depth at guard won't be the greatets next season.

I'm more worried about getting good players to fill the rides in 2012. Rhett Smith is one heck of a good start.

Well, we would have to have several injuries before that, so probably not.

What are we going to do with DL if we move CR to the 3?

I just checked and AC and DL were both "listed" as a guard in the starting lineup. I have a definition of a guard, though, that neither of them fit in. To me, our guards are Odum, Kelly, McWhorter; with Printy as a 2. I call Lathan and Carter 3's because I don't see them as handlers or passers. That's just me.

Guards know how to handle the ball so I can def see how people would classify him as a SF. He really is a forward stuck in a shooting guards body. He might improve his ball handling, passing, and decision making a lot before next year starts but as it stands today he does not have a skill set typical guards have. Tell me if you want your two guard to be a below average ball handler, shooter, and decision maker? I dont think so... Lathan has a lot of value to the team because we are small and he has two traits we need badly on our team. His athleticism and rebounding give us something hardly anyone else on the team can.

So I guess, technically, we played a one-guard offense some this year and will next year, especially if CR moves out to the 3. Lathan can guard 2's, so that is not a problem, and 13 will be doing most of the handling and playmaking.

I think that is why 13's development has been so important and indicative of the teams progression and success this year.

At the same time, in a motion offense there aren't quite as defined roles as sg, sf, etc. Everyone handles the ball pretty equally, minus te point who will bring it up.

He has a nice stroke...I saw him get hot last year at the MVC tournament...guy can make shots just needs to get the head on straight to make sure he takes good shots!
