Looking through the immediately eligible transfer pile...

Was just looking through the immediately eligible transfer pile and here are guys I'd hope we'd contact to see if they're interested:

Payton Banks, Penn State - http://www.gopsusports.com/sports/m-...ks_850764.html
10 points and 2 boards in 26 mpg mostly off the bench.

    Mark Donnal, Michigan - http://www.mgoblue.com/sports/m-bask...al_847504.html
4 points and 2 boards in 12 mpg. This kid could have been an All-MVC big had he decided to go mid-major out of high school.

    Nick King, Alabama/Memphis - http://www.rolltide.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=3252
3 points and 3 boards in 12 mpg. Already transferred from one HM to another when he went to Bama. Hopefully he sees that he should drop down a rung to get more opportunity.

    Rashad Muhammad, Miami/San Jose State - http://www.hurricanesports.com/ViewA...CLID=210264795
13 points per game at San Jose State. Brother of former UCLA and NBAer Shabazz. Was kicked off Miami's squad for not following conduct but couldn't find specifics. My guess is his next home will be a MM/LM program. Looks like a capable wing shooter.

    Sean Obi, Duke/Rice - http://www.riceowls.com/sports/m-bas...bi_854237.html
10 points and 9 boards at Rice. Didn't play much at Duke but when he was at Rice was a double-double guy and shot 60% from the floor as a true freshman. My guess is even though he didn't get much burn at Duke, he has practiced against the best so he'd be very capable in the Valley.

    Chukwudubem Okeke, Winthrop - http://www.winthropeagles.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=4136
3 points, 4 boards and 1.5 blocks in 14 mpg. Also shot 61% from the floor so he is efficient offensively. Read that Winthrop was 20-6 when he had 3 blocks in a game. Would be an excellent front court piece, especially since you know how Lansing loves defense.

    Jack Whitman, Williams & Mary - http://www.tribeathletics.com/roster...29&path=mbball
10 points, 5 rebounds in 22 mpg. Shot a blistering 66% from the floor. He appears to be a true PF as well as he didn't take a single 3 point shot. Would look good next to Rickman I'd think.

There were a couple more that caught my eye but they were guards and with what we have returning and coming in, I'd rather address the elephants in the room -- post defense/scoring, rebounding and a wing scorer.

I assume these are guys who are going to transfer or who could potentially transfer?

I don't know much about any of them. Looks like Banks is a pretty capable shooter and so that would be nice to have. Was a 3 star recruit out of high school.

I saw Donnal play some this year and was amazed that Michigan didn't have a better option off the bench. He can shoot and he can alter some shots around them. But I was underwhelmed watching him. That said, I wouldn't turn him away - I was underwhelmed knowing I was watching Michigan not Indiana State.

King looks like he can score but probably not a very good shooter from long range. Would give us another highly touted prospect out of the state of Tennessee as he had a pretty impressive prep career. We might garner a ton of fandom in that state lol

Doubt Muhamud is interested in coming to Terre Haute. Seems like a scorer that would be a nice addition to a fringe mid major tournament team with a lot of experience. Don't think we would fit his profile.

Obi is a double double guy that can rebound the basketball - Lawrd knows we can use a rebounder.

Okeke looks like a more polished version of what we already have in Rickman. That would give us 2 really nice shot blockers but if Lansing refuses to put them on the floor at the same time who cares? Going to need another big though so he might be a nice piece.

Whitman agree with what you said.

They are all guys that are on the VerbalCommits transfer list, haven't already picked a spot/or it isn't known yet and will have immediate eligibility. I was just throwing shit at the wall because nobody had posted anything this morning.

Donnal is from somewhere in Ohio (if I remember right). Wonder if he might consider playing at ISU?

Dont have a ton of time to research or comment as to why i feel this way at the moment, but i would rather get a 5th yr 3/4 over 5th yr 5. Ive seen banks play for penn st and he would be a nice stop gap for a yr

They are gearing up for another run. They've been in on most of the grad transfers that I've searched the interwebs for.

Are we actually targeting any grad transfers? Don't know that we've ever had one.
