Ok, possible dumb question(s) about to be asked.....

Is Liberty FCS or FBS? I know they plan to move up, but have they? If they have, are they at full FBS scholarships?

We are FCS Independent this year even though our Big South games count in league standings. We are FBS transitional in 2018 and full FBS with bowl eligibility in 2019.

You guys have a murderers row schedule. Wow!

No they are not. But as Boda posted they're probably too busy counting their money to have time for such frivolity.

how it went for App State and Georgia Southern a few years ago was it was a 2 year transition. Year 1 you are considered FCS but ineligible for the playoffs. Year 2 you are FBS but ineligible for a bowl game. Blame this on Randy Moss who won the NC in their last year in FCS then made a bowl game in their first year in FBS or at least that's how the legend goes.

The process you outline is the process; whether it was Appalachian State, Ga Southern, UTSA, Old Dominion or Georgia State; last season in FCS, no playoff eligibility (usually no eligibility for conference titles) and no bowl eligibility in the first years of FBS.

Have never heard Moss was the reason for it BUT it makes for an interesting tale / story / lie for Moss fans to share over camp fires
