Just one comment about this game, KAVION PIPPEN.

We have NO answer for him....and at this point in the season, I don't believe any other team in the MVC has an answer for him.

I'm forecasting SIU and Loyola in the Championship game of the MVC Tournament, and I'm picking SIU....just because of Pippen's play in the 2nd half of the regular season.

And those ppl out there that don't believe JC ranks produces difference makers for teams.Pippen is a great example. Mcmurray or whatever for drake was another..we just fail to indentify the right ones time and time again

Fairly confident Kavion Pippen wasn't highly sought after either. I think SIU was his only D1 offer, but I could be wrong

at least we have a small glimmer of winning; we're 32-28 vs. Carbondale in Terredise... 12-52 in Carbondale, 0-4 on neutral courts

though at this point, I'll be mildly shocked IF we do win

Let's see, that's 44-84 All Time against SIU? I knew it was lopsided, but NOT this lopsided. That's fugly.

If this isn't 44-85 after tomorrow, I'll be shocked.

Is it IDENTIFICATION or DEVELOPMENT...or a bit of both?

A few have mentioned Murphy's development @ ISU:

    '14-15 1.0 ppg 1.5 rpg
    '15-16 4.8 4.2
    '16-17 4.2 3.5
    '17-18 7.6 4.6

Note that Murphy's scoring & rebounding dropped during his 3rd season @ ISU.

    Pippen's JC (2 yrs) & SIU #'s:

    '15-16 5.3 4.3
    '16-17 10.5 7.3
    '17-18 12.6 6.1

Note that during Pippen's 3rd season and transition from JC to Div I, his scoring has increased while his rebounding has dropped off slightly. It'll be interesting to see how his numbers evolve thru next season.

His famous uncle averaged 23.6/10.1 in his final season @ Central Arkansas, which is not the MVC.

yep -- those numbers are from this season's MBB guide... NOT that it's the gospel, the SID make more than their fair share of mistakes
but I'd forgotten we actually WON in carbondale three seasons ago... but also because that's the last time the Trees beat the dogs

Murphy would have a much higher scoring average this season if he was consistant with his free throws and could hold onto the ball. I am not impressed with him. He was taken to school by Loyola's freshman center last week.
