Reaves was going to be getting a ton of PT with Shamet going to the NBA. This will leave them with 4 players and apparently Marcus McDuffie is rumored to possibly be leaving, too.

If Marshall is the coach everything thinks he is, they should be, right? Just odd to lose that many places when it isn't a coaching change. That usually means a coach did something behind the scenes that rubbed the players wrong.

They've lost 11 players this offseason. 6 graduated, 1 left for the NBA, 2 were walk-ons that aren't coming back, and 2 were scholarship players that are transferring (including now Reaves). You can count 12 if you like since they released Lomax from his LOI so we could go play for Penny Hardaway at Memphis.

So, I'm not sure there's a massive problem when really only 2 of the players leaving were within their control (not counting the walk-ons). But, they only have 4 scholarship players right now which is a big problem. There were also rumors of player discontent throughout last season, so something is going on there. Reaves leaving, especially at this point, seems to be more of an indicator of something happening at the top than anything else.

The problem is probably the conference they're playing in.

Agreed. They have lost players to mass graduation in the past..They also had stud recruiting classes or transfers signed waiting in the wings. With the kid going to Memphis (understandable given the situation) and now one of their top 2-3 players bolting this spring that causes some concern..Marshall will definitely earn that big money next season if they are at the top of their league.

That is NOT good. He’s a helluva player and is perfect for Valley play. I assumed he was going back home to Arkansas, so if that’s not the case I hope we inquire. We have an extra scholly to use for a transfer now.
