today is all finals, starts at 1pm, so if you're around it'd be a good day to take in the meet!

the meet is on ESPN+ so you need to subscribe to that to see the meet unfortunately

very entertaining meet on day 3, despite the horrid heat and humidity there were outstanding performances, including several meet records, facility records, and in the men's competition it came down to the last event to decide who would win the team title.

Illinois State needed to win the 4 x 400 relay and have UNI finish 3rd, but noone could catch UNI for 2nd, so they won the meet by a single point.

And just to show how every point counts, UNI had a guy who made the final in the 110 high hurdles, but for whatever reason he wasn't able to compete at full strength, so he walked the event, finished, got 1 point for 8th and that was the difference in the meet, giving UNI the team title.

On the other hand, in the women's competition, Indiana State's Patricia Dziekonska, who was a favorite to win the 100 hurdles, fell on the 1st hurdle, but got up and finished anyway for 8th, getting 1 point. Had she not finished we'd have been 3rd behind SIU. In the women's 4 x 400 we had a 2 point lead over SIU going in, but SIU won, we were 2nd, so we tied SIU for 2nd in the team standings.

EVERY Sycamore athlete competed very well today, if you've never been to a meet, I'd encourage you all to go sometime. It's good stuff
