My first thought was, do whatever you want, the big dogs are still going to be the ones at the table when it matters.

I like it, partly because the new format is a bit of a "F you" to the selection committee.

Don't know if I want it for the MVC, but maybe.

Perennial one-big leagues will remain that way regardless of how the scheduling shakes out, but for those leagues that usually have a second team that's on the bubble it may give them 5% more of a chance to make it. I applaud CUSA for thinking outside of the box and I see no realistic downside to trying it, but they're unfortunately really grasping at nothing here.

This could have worked for the MVC when we were extremely top-heavy with Creighton and WSU...giving teams in the 3-5 ranking another crack or two at them...but at this point it doesn't really matter. Leagues like us and CUSA are one-bid leagues just praying to get a second team in every 3-5 years.

The main problem here is...ANY conference loss for CUSA and the MVC is a bad loss. It doesn't matter to the selection committee who you lost to. They see no difference between Evansville as they do UNI or Illinois State.

Well, this seems like an interesting approach to scheduling. I like the way they will end the season. As far as the selection committee is concerned--ain't gonna make any difference. Shakespeare summed it up well--much ado about nothing.
