For me the reason this is a must win is so I don’t have to read or hear anyone say “well once Neese and Williams are eligible...”

Nah, I'll just point to Lansing's first season in 2010-2011 when we lost to Loyola (before they were good), Eastern Kentucky, and Ball State in three of our first four games. We then went to Wyoming and got destroyed by 30. It's all good though because that team went to the NCAA tournament, so no need to worry about this one.

    Silver linings everywhere!!!!

I spent a little time this morning getting up to speed on Green Bay. They're not too bad. They had quite a few bumps in the road last year, but they're projected to finish around 4th (upper half) in the Horizon. They're definitely a guard-oriented, three-point shooting team, and they RUN. The had one of the fastest tempos in all of college basketball last year.

They have an All-Horizon player in Sandy Cohen, transfer from Marquette who became eligible after the fall semester last year (like Neese and Williams for us this year). He's the real deal - 6'6" guard that can score and rebound. He's going to be a big matchup problem. They also have a returning double digit scoring guard in Kameron Hankerson. Lastly, they still have the player with the best name in all of college basketball: PJ Pipes.

I like to think that a middle-of-the-pack MVC team should beat a middle-of-the-pack Horizon team, but we'll see. It's going to be a close one, and I'm preparing for disappointment.

    Green Bay wins, 82-76.

Well, once Neese and Williams are eligible, you won't have to.

For whatever it's worth,CBS sports has the trees ranked 132 and Green Bay at 204. Like I said, whatever it's worth, probably not much

Barnes not starting... violation on team rules.

Like Hughes - sure it’s just purely speculation.

Forgot this is where Linc Darner went. Yeah, they're going to run.
