    Neese - Rebounding

Neese is doing a real nice job on the boards. Does anyone have a theory on why? Is it hustle, aggressiveness, an ability to follow the ball, or just athletic ability?

I believe all of the above. People always preach block out, which is important. But, you also just need to be aggressive and go get the ball. Twice I saw yesterday, Rickman had his man blocked out, only to watch the ball hit the floor. Go get the ball.

What about Tyreke yesterday? Only 1 rebound in 35 minutes?? That is hard to do. You could probably stick a 70 year old man out there for 35 minutes and collect at least 1 rebound. Get with it Tyreke!!

I agree that Neese has a nose for the ball. Key only has a nose for the basket and contact, not the ball.

Yeah. Very unimpressive effort from Tyreke yesterday. Kid seems to have hit a snag in his progression. Not sure what is going on with him.

At the gym right now and will expand later, but our scheme makes our guards our rebounders.

Neese......I don't know if it's the way he moves on the court....or the arm band he wears......but he kind of reminds me a little of Ron Baker.....now....he's got a long way to go to be Ron Baker.....but after just a few games, I think there is some potential there......seems to have a nose for the ball.....like rebounding..

Back to my post, our scheme predicates our guards as being our leading rebounders. Our top rebounders right now are Neese, Williams, Key and Barnes.

We've all complained about nobody following their shot or going after an offensive boards, but most of the time, our 4/5 guys will turn and run back up court as soon as the shot goes up to eliminate the fast break and turn it into a half court game because that is what Lansing emphasizes and teaches.

Wasn't TK the only Sycamore to show up at Loyola?
