I believe he had at least three. Us, South Alabama and Western Illinois. Not sure if there were more, or how many were close to offering/kicking tires, etc.

    1. Getting back Inoke Moala after a season ending injury early last season is going to help tremendously with the pass rush. Also, JUCO transfer Isaac Fotu (Snow College, UT) is going to be a force as well. Very similar to Moala, but a little bit faster. Also Cade Peratt will be on the other side at end. In pass rush situations you could see Fotu and Peratt at the edge rush spots, bump Moala into a 3 technique, and JuCo DT Alton Nobles (Monroe College, NY) come in as the nose.

    2. Jonas Griffith will move to the Mike backer spot and will free up the outside linebacker to Matt Thompson. Thompson was a situational player last year, but has had a very strong and impressive winter and has solidified a starting spot. The other outside linebacker spot will be Clayton Glasco. Glasco is also a JuCo transfer from 2 years ago that saw some playing time last season. He is strong, fast, and physical and will make an immediate contribution.

    3. Newman and Thompson will be the starting corners heading into the season. Getting Ware back from and injury is going to help as well. Ware was a starter two years ago as a true freshman. Also in the depth chart is Anthony Tucker Jr. who played sparingly last season. Nehemiah Montague has moved from corner to safety and will compete for a starting position with the loss of Jamal Jones to graduation.

Getting Gunner was a huge steal for ISU. He visited WIU and they offered him on the visit and he told them no. We also picked up a JuCo PWO QB from Alan Hancock CC in California, 6'3 230 lbs.

Stephon Mayes is no longer on the team. Was dismissed academically.

Very awesome post. Thanks for taking the time to type that up. Really excited to see how it all works out in Spring Ball. Not everyone will be full contact with the injured guys but it should give a good snapshot of what the team will be like. I know they are working hard. They are now the hunted rather than the hunter in some aspects. Should be exciting. Go Trees.
