With the inevitability of TH procuring a casino to enhance the success of its new Convention Center, does anyone think that Gibson might be interested in HULMAN CENTER attendance #'s, thus assisting w/ a Lansing contract buyout?

Buckhorn, thank you for posting this story! Being from Dale,I can go back to the Burke Scott and The group that played with him. They were ranked 5th in the state and Dale beat them in the sectional played at Cannelton. Those were the days but fun to recall. In those days Tell City played on a stage.

Memory is a bit fuzzy, so bear with me. I can recall going to a Evansville Semistate back in the late 1960's, and one of the schools (thought it might have been Tell City) had two brothers on their team. All I can recall about the game is that the team was supposed to be pretty good but were getting beat soundly, and that their coach was just out of control. Screamed the whole game at his kids and was borderline physically abusive. It got to the point of being embarrassing. I can still remember the looks on some of those young kids faces. I remember that the brothers (red-headed twins?) were pretty good players. Sorry for the rambling, don't even know if this was Tell City.

That coach was probably Gunner Wyman. I wasn't there at the time, but would fit as coached at Tell City I think.

I attended Hoosier Boys State in the Summer of 1961 on the campus of IU. Tommy Kron of Tell City and me played together on our Boy's State city basketball team, Davidson. Yes, we won the basketball championship. I played shooting guard and the point guard was played by a guy from Indianapolis Washington.
Tommy was a down to earth pleasant guy and fun teammate. As most of you know he went on to play at the Univ. of Kentucky. I was saddened to learn of his death at age 64 from bladder cancer.

Those were the James bros @ Scottsburg (Billy & Bob). Billy avg. near 35 ppg that '69 season. Jim Mathews was their coach.

Here's a neat story which touches the '68-69 duel between Mike Edwards (Greenfield) & Billy James:

    https://www.indystar.com/story/sport...now/449727001/

Vincennes Lincoln HS, led by 6'7" IU recruit Jerry Memering defeated Scottsburg in the E-ville '69 final game, their 2nd consecutive Semi-State Championship. James (6'3") was no match for Memering. I was also @ this game in the nose-bleed section of Roberts Stadium.

Heritage Hills has a 6'8" Soph this yr. (Sisley) that allegedly has been offered by UE's McCarty (you know how message boards are). Sagarin rates HH as #31 in IN w/ 19-1 record.

Recall ROGER KAISER? His bros. (Dale;now deceased) worked for me during the '90 U.S. Census in Spencer County. Since he was a Realtor & lived in Christmas Lake Village and knew everyone, he made things easy.
