I think this is a major misstep that will eventually end Homecoming but I guess we'll see.

Well, I think Curtis is out to marginalize ISU as much as possible, so this will help in that pursuit...

How many tents can they fit behind the hill back there? Certainly they wouldn't let Greek tents back there considering the opponent's sideline is right there and they certainly wouldn't let them bring in their alcohol if they did I wouldn't think -- which means you've effectively told Greek Life they are no longer invited to Homecoming. Not even getting into the huge parties the black fraternities basically put on getting members from chapters across the state and country to come into town for.

So, anyone still up for moving Homecoming to Hoops Season?

Changes to Tent City, increased law enforcement among Homecoming plans

In addition to hosting meetings with on- and off-campus groups regarding Homecoming, a problem-based learning course was designed so students could help study the issues and provide recommendations.

This may prove to be either good or bad. If people quit coming to the stadium then it will be a bad thing. I'm not sure what the good is. I will come up with something if I can. Thinking, thinking, thinking. Oh I have it. We won't have to put up with the hundreds of people blasting their music before the game and during the game outside the northeast corner of the stadium. I hope it increases attendance at the game. I really think they should have just announced that tent city is closed at kickoff.

I haven't been to homecoming in over 10 years, so I can't give too much of an opinion on how these changes could affect things. But...

Does anyone else find it odd that they're quoting a Freshman from the student group who they consulted with regarding the changes? How could a Freshman really understand what Homecoming means to the alumni base, how long the traditions have been established, etc.? She's never truly partaken before.

Lastly, the items regarding tents on campus is completely bogus. You want people to enjoy all the great changes that have happened on campus then don't play football 3 miles away.

I'm going to reserve judgement until they clarify as to what tents are able to go inside of Memorial and the specific restrictions surrounding them.

Well looks like homecoming is dead (at least will be after this season). Unfortunetly it would appear a few bad apples ruined it for everyone.

I would recommend they look at how University of Tennessee handles tailgating.. There you reserve a specific spot if I understand it correctly. It was an enjoyable experience.
