To paraphrase the great Norm MacDonald,....."not much is known about this new (homecoming), except that it will suck!"

Anyone still want to tell me this isn't an anti-greek policy?

    Hahahahahaha!

This is the dumbest idea to come out of Indiana State since...well, I don't know. She actually seems like she honestly believes that A) organizations will close down their on campus tents and all those people will come out to Memorial Stadium, and B) people are buying her BS line about "badly needed parking space" at Memorial Stadium. Talk about living in a bubble.

And in a year that, if everything breaks the right way, we could conceivably see 10,000 people attend the football game. Probably not, since Greek organizations won't be there. Genius move by our "leadership."

Where is the Board of Trustees on this stuff? I know they don't like to micromanage, but geez...

Seems to me they’re punishing the vast majority of good fans because of the actions of a few bad apples. Why couldn’t problems be addressed without hurting those of us who aren’t causing problems? One of the most anticipated seasons in recent memory, and they’re doing all they can to push people away.

Maybe they are trying to avoid a repeat of the bad situation that occurred in Cincinnati in the 70's at The Who concert. For those too young to remember, there were several concert goers who were trampled in a stampede when the doors were opened.

I’ve been saying for months how ridiculous all of these changes were going to be...

Why would anyone go to the “new and not improved” tent city? Literally, they make it sound so awful - what reason do I have to go to any of those tents that they listed? To "network"? P L E A S E!

Not everyone that comes back from HC comes back to go to the football game - that’s okay! They’re still our alums and we should welcome them back whenever and however we can.

Greek life - although not part of my life is a big part of our history, homecoming and every home football game for that matter. Not having an organized place for the alums to meet up during HC is beyond ridiculous.

I didn’t renew my 3 season football tickets because of all this - changes like this made for one of the least anticipated football seasons for me... Don’t blame me - I didn’t make the decisions I only reacted to them.

Lots of people like my wife don’t go into the game because they don’t like football. She’s an alumn and likes to go and hang out, and talk with friends while I go in and watch the game. Now, she’ll probably just stay home, especially when it gets cold, with no fire. This is just dumb. Do they realize that a lot of people don’t go in at Purdue and IU? You shouldn’t force people inside.

It's so terrible... Not everyone that goes to college football games wants to go inside to watch the game. It doesn't mean they don't care about the outcome or the University. It's literally part of the college football experience - espn college game-day is built on this entire premise of fans partying and having a good ole time. Who gives a rip if they go inside or not?! All that is just noise anyway.

This has everything to do with:

    - Greek parties in old "tent city". If were being honest I think it's specifically targeting the African American contingency/fraternities that attracts a large gathering once the game starts.

    - "The Walk" and the fact that many of the walkers were walking toward a destination being old "tent city". The local establishments don't want the walk to be done away with but Indiana State doing everything they can to limit participation.

So I suppose if they don't have an end game or a tent to party at once they arrive at Memorial Stadium maybe they just won't even bother walking all the way and it becomes someone else problem at that point? It has nothing to do with attendance or parking or anything else. Whatever. I'm over it.

In closing - don't talk to me about parking Indiana State. Stop it. A parking problem at a sporting event isn't a problem - it's called a solution to all your problems! People park at Rural King (wtf is life), Meadows Elementary School, side streets etc. Parking is not hard to find and even if it was - it's the best possible problem you could ever have at a sporting event!
