...doesn't ISU have media coverage? It's known as "beating the drum of pre-season enthusiasm." Now thick in the glue of a 5 yr. losing streak, you'd think that Lansing would be yearning for similar psych support?

I think mum is the word is the correct approach. We might have 2-3 players that, for whatever reason, are "secrets" to those outside of the program.

Picking Evansville 5th isn't far-fetched. They'll prob be in the 6th-7th range once the pre-season picks are officially announced on Oct. 17th.

    Here's Todd Golden's MVC pre-season picks:

    MVC picks:
    1. MSU, 2. BU, 3. UNI, 4. LU, 5. DU, 6. ISU, 7. UE, 8. ILS, 9. SIU, 10. VU

    And article about ISU's defense:

I think any of the top 4 in Golden's list can win the league. My order is slightly different (LUC, BU, MSU, UNI) but those should be the best teams. I think the rest of the league will be in a scramble to avoid Thursday.

If he is needed at the post, then we have some problems.

Nevertheless, LaRavia could have been picked up by Purdue and it would not have surprised anybody.
Of course, we don't want to count on that much from a freshman, but it's not unheard of for a freshman to contribute ( especially a 6'8" guy that can shoot, pass and handle).

I'll be disappointed if 2-3 other players don't breakout from last year's performance.
