As I said earlier, this was as positive a game as I’ve seen from ISU in several years. I’m feeling pretty good right now, but it’s a long season and they haven’t proven anything yet. People be like, “screw me once, it’s your fault. Screw me twice, it’s my fault.”

Let’s just hope this team doesn’t do the “Sycamore Shuffle” and get all full of themselves and then fall apart. Keep building, fellas!!!
Meh. I’ve posted after every win and loss for a long time! My love doesn’t waiver as much game to game as other I guess. I always think we’re a 5 game winning streak away from being the best team ever. I mean whatever ITF - people are gun shy about being a fan of a mid major college basketball team??

Spare me. You only get so many chances to be enjoy a mid major college basketball season - it’s just such a rare thing in this day and age. People are stuck in slow motion thinking sustainable winning is a thing and will be achieved year over year.

Advice enjoy each win and buy in when your gut tells you to buy in. I understand why people would be skeptical they have EVERY right. But what’s the big deal?! Lmao Sucking from time to time aint as deep as these people make it. Enjoy the ride - it aint gonna change in this landscape.

Why I’m starting to think this is different that in past years is that this team has grit. Toughness. A willingness to fight and claw and gnash their way through adversity. We haven’t seen this kind of tenacity in years.

We saw it in the Dayton game but didn’t know if it was real. Outside of the egg laid against Ball State, we’ve seen a different kind of fight in this team this year. Come conference season that character will be key.

Now...we get 11 days off to get healthy and prepare for 3 home games. Tennessee State - sucks. Chicago State - really sucks. Southern Illinois - sucks. We should be sitting at 8 wins soon with a ton of confidence and momentum. Can’t wait to see this play out.

We have players that are a cut above our "typical" players. Do you see how quick Jake and Tre got off the floor compared to practically all of the bigs we have had? And our three perimeter guys are a handful with decent backups.
The one thing I notice that I'm not used to from watching our teams for decades is, sometimes, we appear to score so easily -- either by the outside shot, off the dribble or feeding it inside.

I’ve been out of town all week and not able to follow the team much, other than on gamecast and Twitter. But, looking like we’re starting to put the pieces together. I think Valley teams are gonna get tired of seeing Tre, Jake , and Coop the next few years. When’s the last time we had two 6’8” guys with the potential of Williams and LaRavia? I still feel like the one thing that could hold us back this year is the PG position, but hope I’m wrong. Two good wins this week. Will be interesting to see how CWill fits in when he comes back. #marchon

JB has been playing very well.

If we can find a way to limit turnovers as a team, we're going to be special. That said, I'm okay with a bump in turnovers if it means we're playing and performing at this pace. Dropping 80+ points on nearly 50% shooting should be squad goals every game. Especially when you realize Key was the weak link going 2 for 9 today.

Asking for a friend - what does it feel like cheering for a team to win but getting more gratification out of them losing so you can come on here and trash the head coach?! Sincerely curious what that looks like for you all??

Cooper Neese quietly turning into a monster!! I mean he’s always taken care of the basketball - been awhile since we’ve had someone playing a guard position that values the ball as well as he does. He talks the X’s & O’s of the game as well as Odum. He’s now defeinfing. He’s getting some buy-in from Lansing. The kid is only a Soph and he’s VERY dangerous right now.
Don't need to come on here and read your expert "evaluation" of the game. I saw it and they played well, very well with constant adversity. Show me a few more good efforts not just one here and there and I will visit more often since I'm sure you miss me.
When I was a player, I didn't expect my teammates to play the way I did. I did expect them to work hard every day and get better. – Larry Bird

You do understand that basketball is athletic competition don't you? It's not just running up and down the court or a video game.

I’ve got us atleast last 4 out right now at worst!!

I'm not sure what about that article screams "perspective"?? We'd already talked pre game, during the game and post game about the impact of them not having Love. It was a road game BankShot - we didn't get any calls - our best player struggled the entire game and got hurt - we didn't get to the bonus until 30 seconds left in Overtime... What gives? What are we supposed to keep in perspective on this glorious day?!
